- Presentation of the artist selected to create a commemorative work of art to be unveiled in September 2012

- Launch of the "Visions of Tomorrow" time capsule contest for the general public

Spring
- A fashion shopping bag specially designed in cooperation with designer Marie Saint Pierre for the 50th anniversary and benefitting the Canadian Cancer Society goes on sale (Galerie PVM)

- Members of the general public are invited to celebrate PVM every time they walk through the Galerie Place Ville Marie south hallway leading to Central Station
